Protein Fad or Protein Fact?

25631958_s

Protein: More Than The Latest Fad
Protein has long been lauded as the muscle-building mineral of fitness competition winners – but why? What is it about this nutrient that actually helps the body maintain a healthy weight, enhance muscle, and fend off fats.
The Power Of Protein
Protein is an essential nutrient for many functions of the body, including the building and repair of tissues. Yes, tissues include muscle! Hair and nails are other areas that depend on protein to exist. In fact, each cell in your body needs protein. Physical bodies were designed to require a particular set of nutrients in order to not only survive, but thrive. Since the body requires such a large amount of protein in order to create, maintain, and repair many tissues, you need to ensure the proper amounts are being taken in on a daily basis.
The Right Kinds Of Protein
Protein can be accumulated from a variety of sources, but not all of those options will do your body well. A nice 8-ounce steak, for instance, contains more than enough protein than daily needs; however, there are significant amounts of fats included in that steak. Try to incorporate a variety of sources in your protein search, and make sure they add to your diet in other ways as well. Here are some protein options that give you the right amounts, without the added negatives:
  • Seafood – Salmon, especially, is an incredible source of protein, without the excessive fat count. The fats that seafood does contain are in the form of omega-3 fatty acids, which is heart healthy!
  • Dairy – Yogurt, milk, and cheese contain a very good amount of protein, paired with the added benefit of calcium. With diary products, you can work on muscle and bone strength. Milk is often fortified with vitamin D, really ramping up the health benefits.
  • Poultry – Both the chicken and the egg are beneficial here! Additionally, eggs are just about the least expensive form of protein you can find, giving you some great breakfast options that won’t stretch your budget.
  • Protein Shake – For those on-the-go, or even just trying to really pare down their food intake will love the option of protein powder. Blend it up with ice and water or milk, and you’ve got your perfect protein-packed breakfast! For added benefits, and to help you reach your specific magic protein number, add in some kale, coconut, or flaxseed! All of your protein needs can be obtained with one quick shake.
More Protein ≠ More Muscle
To be clear, protein itself does not create stronger muscles. It does, however, give your muscles the tools and nutrition they need to ensure they be properly built and created. Because of this, taking in more protein will not ensure bigger, stronger muscles. Strength training will ensure you gain the strength you’re looking for, and protein will help your body stay healthy in order to handle the strength training exercises. Don’t buy into the latest trends and go on a protein-only diet. Do your research, ask a professional, or enlist the help of an online personal trainer to help you find your body’s necessary protein requirements. Take in just the amount you need, and focus on the gym to take care of the rest!

Police disaster training and A review of the police employment steps

Local officers train for how to handle public shootings [Video Below]

A review of the police employment steps
By: Leopoldo Magnotta

In order to become a police officer, it requires a pretty exceptional individual.. It really is very demanding. And it's not straightforward.

So in the hiring process, agencies subject applicants through a number of requirements in order to make sure those agencies employ a person who is expected to do a exceptional job, and keep the agency out of trouble. (Article continues below)

When it comes to defending yourself and your family from an attacker there is no such thing as a fair fight!
The coward attacker that blind-sides you in the parking lot doesn’t believe in a fair fight, and neither should you!
That’s why you need to arm yourself with this free, totally legal tool that can drop an attacker in an instant!
Like I said, it’s free!  But you need to get your name down now because there’s a limited supply!
This self-defense tool has been the number #1 selling “Every Day Carry” in America since Feb 2016 and it’s now your chance to get one for free!
I’ve already told my friends and family to get theirs and I urge you to claim one too.

What is involved in this process?

The written application initiates the hiring process. A single job opening could result in many of applications. The department has to screen these applications seeing as it simply can't interview all applicants. A candidate is likely to be immediately rejected if they have any major prior acts like a suspended drivers license or previous serious criminal conviction. Though each agency does examine things a bit in a different way. Additionally, the agency might look at things like education, consistency in prior employment, and additional elements.

A written test has to be passed by the applicant. Frequently it is not just sufficient to pass, but to score high considering the significant quantity of people applying. These examinations focus on competencies like arithmetic, reading skills, grammar, and spelling. A written essay is typically expected.

The physical agility exam is also pretty significant. Candidates must be in good enough physical condition to carry out the position of a law enforcement officer. These exams include a number of obstacles designed to duplicate what an law enforcement officer could confront on patrol.

The most important part of the hiring process is almost certainly the oral board. Tough questions will are likely to be inquired of the candidate by a few members within the agency. Top applicants are invited to go further in the hiring process after a ranking based upon results of the oral interview.

Each detail of the applicant's life is looked into in the course of the background check. Family, friends, co-workers, and supervisors are met with. Criminal reports are checked, as are financial records like a credit report. A confession of any prior problem is absolutely expected from the applicant. Any deceitfulness is expected to lead to immediate disqualification.

If a candidate makes it through the above, they'll usually have one more job interview with the head of the agency (Chief, Sheriff, etc.) or another top ranking member within the command staff. This meeting can help conclude if the applicant will represent the agency well, and if they are the best individual for the position.

A conditional job offer is often presented at this point. This allows the agency to subject the candidate to a pre employment medical examination and psych examination. The hiring process is normally concluded following these final steps.

At the time a job vacancy permits, a proper employment offer is likely to come to a applicant who has made it through all of the previous steps.

Is it over then? Obviously not. Several months of taxing work is in the future for the applicant at the police academy.

After graduation, it is time for the Field Training program where the new cop works with several veteran training officers. A decent number of new police officers do not pass this part, so it's not to be treated without respect.

The process is essentially finished once the cop finishes a probation period of 12 to 18 months, and has successfully finished the FTO program.

They're a law enforcement professional, and will enjoy the benefits, and need to deal with the duties, that come with the position.

Anger Management Techniques
By: William Defoore

Gain Control Of Your Anger Now With These Steps:

1. Breathe deep and long breaths. Be sure to open your belly and breathe deep into your abdomen. You may not know it, but when you're angry you're panicking. This will help you to calm down.

2. Walk outside and look at the sky while you're doing your deep breathing. This will help you to put things in perspective, and it can have a soothing effect.

3. Do some stretches. When you're angry your body gets tense and rigid. The stretching will open up some of the tight areas of your body and get more oxygen flowing to your brain and help you clear your thoughts.

4. Get some paper and start writing. Write about how mad you are and why. Don't be nice, reasonable or rational. The point is to get your anger out on the paper, to purge it from your mind. Keep writing until you feel some relief or release, and don't stop until you do. For more help with this type of exercise, check out this book.

5. Write about what you have to be grateful for, what you appreciate about your life, your self and (if you can) the person you are mad at. For help with this, check out Dr. DeFoore's newsletter GOODFINDING, or his GOODFINDING CD.

6. Imagine that you are at the funeral of the person you are mad at. What would you say. What would you miss about that person if they were gone?

7. If you know how, pray. Pray for God to guide you through this dark time. Pray for the grace to see the beauty and vulnerability in the person you are mad at. Pray for the wisdom to see beyond the view of the person or situation that makes you so angry.

8. Imagine that you are the person you are mad at. Put yourself in their shoes. Look at the situation from their viewpoint. How do you look to them? Is that how you want to look? Decide who and how you want to be and act as if you were that already.

9. Remember a time in your childhood when you were afraid, hurt or angry. In your imagination, embrace that child, saying "It's okay. I'm here. You didn't do anything wrong. You're a good kid. I love you just like you are. I'm not going to leave you." Then take the child (your child self) out of the situation to a safe place where s/he can relax, heal or even play. Learn about the Nurturing Your Inner Child CD or download.

10. Think about your values. What is the most important thing in the world to you. Who are the most important people in the world to you? What kind of person do you want to be? How do you want to be remembered? Decide that you are that person and you are living by your values, and act as if it were so. This is the fastest way to change your emotions, and it puts you in touch with your true nature, the way you were designed to be.

Remember, inside, you are a good person who wants to help. Think, act and make decisions from that good person that you are, and you can't go wrong!

Brad Stevens Boston Celtics Playbook

This Brad Stevens Boston Celtics Playbook  contains over 60 plays straight from the Boston Celtics offense. There are separate sections for out-of-bounds plays and those end-of-game sets that Coach Stevens is known for. Every team that Brad Stevens coaches executes brilliantly and all of his most complicated sets are broken down so you can run them with your own team. Hope you enjoy!

Brad Stevens seems to bring the magic touch to every team he coaches. He coached 6 successful seasons at Butler University that ended with an overall record of 166-49 and two trips to the NCAA National Championship Game. Unfortunately for Coach Stevens he came up empty handed in both title games, but was able to parlay his success at the small Indiana school into the Head Coaching job with the Boston Celtics.
After Brad guided a young and inexperienced team during his first year as Head Coach of the Celtics, he found his rhythm during his second year at the helm. The Celtics played some of the best basketball in the league in the final few months and clinched the #7 seed in the 2015 Eastern Conference playoffs. Just like any team that Coach Stevens has ever coached, he maximizes the talent he has and has an ability to make complex sets seem simple. Coach Stevens is known for making his mark late in close games where he is known for his wizardry with a clipboard during timeouts.
Brad Stevens also revved up the offense in his second year at the helm, installing a “Pace and Space” offense. They got the Pace part down; the Celtics were 5th in the NBA averaging 98.40 possessions over 48 minutes according to NBA.com. The Celtics also do space the floor well and attempt almost 25 3-pointers per game. However, they make them at the 4th worst rate in the NBA; 32.7% from 3 per NBA.com. The floor spacing leads to ball movement and despite playing 22 different players this season the Celtics assisted on an impressive 62.9% of their field goals ranking them 4th in the entire NBA.

This is Evil

Did you know that...

Hundreds of millions of people have been forced to suffer and even die… needlessly…

Because they were deprived by doctors, Big Pharma, and the medical community of a simple, natural, and PROVEN treatment?

Cannabis Sativa.

Here’s what this dad had to say when he nearly lost his toddler son to a bombardment of chemo...and deprived of access to cannabis, the only thing that was keeping him pain-free and alive:

“If we have safe access to the research, if we have safe access to the medicine then we can change the death rate by simply getting these children off of nausea and pain drugs.”
My friend John Malanca has first-hand experience with the power and wonders of cannabis because it saved his father in law a few years ago from a Stage 4 lung cancer death sentence.
He was given only 2 weeks to live after doing all what traditional “medicine” had to offer him and he’s alive and well and healthy… 7+ years later, thanks to cannabis.
John has also personally witnessed how cannabis has saved the lives of thousands of pain sufferers and those afflicted with life threatening diseases.
The documentary series John hosted and produced last year…“The Sacred Plant: Healing Secrets Exposed” has reached more than 500,000 people from all around the world.
It was so well received and has helped so many people that John is doing Season 2,
This brand new docuseries features all new experts, doctors, and amazing case studies of patients whose lives have been radically improved, enhanced, and prolonged by cannabis.
You’ll take a deep dive into the advancements and far-reaching benefits of this sacred plant extract…
And its incredible healing powers for over 700 ailments and pain relief.
And you’ll see how government lawmakers continue to spread the lies and prevent people who are dying and in need of treatment from accessing cannabis.
You’ll witness for yourself why they’ve falsely and deliberately labeled cannabis as “evil” and why they don’t want you to have it. (It will make your head spin!)
You can watch the entire “The Sacred Plant: Healing Secrets Examined” series for FREE by clicking here.
Over 47 experts, patients, and doctors tell their stories and reveal the first-hand truth behind this sacred plant.
So if you or someone you know is in pain or suffering from a chronic disease, then you don’t want to miss the World Premiere of this groundbreaking new series.

It will change your life. It will change the QUALITY of your life.

Minding Your Business! Fund Your Sport Teams the Right Way

Presented on US Sports Net By Yahoo Small Business!
By: Casey Evertsen
Every sports team out there could use some extra money in their account. Most sports teams would like to buy cool uniforms, get better practice materials, and improved training equipment. Depending on the sport, equipment is going to vary in cost so it is important to know how much money you will need in order to get everything taken care of. Most sports teams in high school, and club teams in college, rely on sports fundraising in order to get the extra money to pay for all of their gear. Even local youth sports teams do the same thing. If you are looking for sports fundraising ideas then you might try selling a discount card.

A sports fundraising discount card can be a great way to generate some extra cash. Most people associate high school football teams with going out door to door to sell sports fundraising discount cards, but the truth is that any team or group can do the same thing. All it takes is some local merchants and retailers to offer some discounts to people that purchase the sports fundraising card. Once these companies and sponsors have been set up then it is up to the team to sell this sports fundraising idea to the community.

Pricing is another big issue when doing sports fundraising. You will want to make sure that the discount card is affordable but that you also get a big enough cut to make it worth all of the extra effort. Typically, this type of sports fundraising idea includes the card being sold for around $10. This can actually turn out to be a really good deal, as long as there are a lot of discounts and that the card can be used multiple times. Take all this into consideration when deciding on this sports fundraising idea.

The next major obstacle you will have to overcome when using this sports fundraising idea is creating a sales force. While most of the kids on your teams will probably be outgoing enough to talk to friends and family about it, the only way to really make money off of this sports fundraising is to get it in the hands of neighbors and other people in the community. You might come up with a simple sports fundraising sales script that the kids can follow so that they know exactly what to say when they go to the door of someone they don't already know. Sports fundraising is always more effective when there is this kind of planning and preparation involved. If the kids feel comfortable with selling this sports fundraising idea then you are likely to sell a lot more.

Last of all, if your discount card sports fundraising doesn't work out the way that you had hoped then don't be afraid to try something new. Selling products is always going to be on the menu when it comes to sports fundraising but as long as you have something new and of high quality, then you won't have a hard time selling it. The important thing about this method of sports fundraising is to make sure that you can get into contact with as many people as possible.

Casey Evertsen is the creator of The Spirit Sleeve in Logan, Utah. A division of Lin Manufacturing, Spirit Sleeve is a fundraising idea that helps students show their school spirit while helping raise funds for school programs.
