Bowie State Men’s Track and Field Finish 9th at Ramapo Invitational
Mahwah, N.J. The Bowie State University men’s track and field teams placed 9th and 10th respectively at the 6th Annual Roadrunner Invitational at the Athletic Center over the weekend.
Rhema Ndjami led the Bulldogs with a pair of 3rd place finishes. Ndjami finished third in the 800 meter run (1:59.52) and in the men’s 1500 meter run. Sonny Hicks also had a top 10 finish in the 800 meter run, placing 6th (2:02.08).

Michael Washington competed in the men’s shot put and finished second overall with a throw of 14.22m. Washington was also a competitor in the discus throw, recording a throw of 37.44m, placing him 15th overall.
Tony Doubin was Bowie State’s top finisher in the men’s triple jump, going 13.50m to give him a 4th place finish. Teammate Jarius Coates placed 12th in the triple jump (12.24m).
Kadeem Bailey and Fabian Gonzalez placed 14th overall in the shot put and 400 meter dash respectively. Bailey recorded a throw of 12.08m while Gonzalez crossed the finish line at 51.49.
Bruce Tyler rounded out Bowie State’s top 20 finishers with a 19th place in the 200 meter dash, crossing the finish line with a time of 22.98.
The Bulldogs foursome of Travis Scarborough, Kevin Johnson, Tyler and Gonzalez, finish 9th overall in the 4x100 meter relay, clocking in at 44.04.
The Bulldogs return to action on April 10th-11th when they travel to Hampton, Va. for the Hampton Relays.
