ARLINGTON, Va. - For the second year in a row, Bowie State University Football Character Development Coordinator and 1986 graduate,M. Burton Cornish, Jr. was selected by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs as the Emcee for the Veterans Day Ceremony at Memorial Amphitheater in Arlington National Cemetery.
Director of Protocol at the Washington D.C. Veterans Affairs Medical Center and an Army Veteran, Cornish stated being selected as the Emcee for a ceremony intended to honor all who have served in the United States Armed Forces. Along with President Barrack Obama in 2013 and this year with Vice President Joe Biden, was more than an opportunity, but a privilege., He also noted that wearing his Bowie State pin for the world to see and having his parents (Bowie State Class of 1955), in the audience was especially rewarding.
As a sign of support, Damon Wilson, Head Coach at Bowie State University Football was in the audience, at the Memorial Amphitheater where he witnessed the Vice Presidential Wreath Laying Ceremony, a parade of colors by veterans' organizations and remarks from dignitaries.
