RICHMOND, Va. - The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (13-10, 7-0 CIAA) recorded their third straight shutout win, dominating Bowie State 14-0 at Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Cluster hosted by Virginia Union. With the loss, the Lady Bulldogs still had a positive weekend, recording a 2-1 record.

As a team, the Lady Rams totaled 15 hits in the game and took advantage of six Bowie State fielding errors in the game. Winston-Salem State’s Brittany Lane led the way with a three-for-three effort at the plate with three RBI and a run scored. Nikki Lynch added one-for-three effort at the plate that included a RBI sacrifice fly and a three-run home run. She also added a pair of runs scored.

The Lady Rams scored in every inning of the five-inning game. After scoring a pair of opening inning runs, Lynch hit her three-run homer in the second inning. Lane added a pair of RBI on a third-inning single. The team had its largest scoring effort in the fourth inning with five runs scored. Four of which were unearned. The team rounded out the effort with a pair of fifth-inning runs.
