Joplin, southwest Missouri --- On August 13, 2019 at approximately 2120 hours Joplin Police Officers were dispatched to 901 W. Kensington Rd in reference to a suspicious person. The subject David Ingle, 31, Joplin Police officer Christopher Grant Meador and officer Laken Rawlins encountered was not combative at first with officers. (continued below..............)

...............Taser’s were deployed and were ineffective. As he was lay down on the ground the suspect suddenly stand up and charged at the officer Meador that is when the officer involved shooting occurred, officer Meador fired his duty weapon striking the suspect.

 Fire and EMS were immediately dispatched to the scene. The suspect was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

 During a press conference, Thursday December 26-2019 after the department finish their 4 months investigation, Chief Matt Stewart said, “You will see Ingle swinging at officer Laken Rawlins and then trying to reach for her gun belt." During the attempt to cuff Ingle, he is stunned twice by officer Christopher Grant Meador and officer Laken Rawlins is injured when a dart from her stun gun embeds in her left wrist police Chief Matt Stewart said.

Joplin Police Chief Matt Stewart says the investigation found no criminal wrong doing and no policy violations for either officer involved. Both officers will return to full-duty.
