“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new” (2 Corinthians 5:17).
We are spirit beings; being
born again transforms our spirits and gives us the opportunity to be
free of our past sins. This opportunity didn’t exist under the old
covenant of the law.
