“All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not” (1 Corinthians 10:23).
When we get born again and
move from being under the Law of Moses to being under grace, we have
freedoms we didn’t have before. However, although all things are now
lawful for us, not everything we do benefits us; the Holy Spirit advises
us accordingly.
