National Arena League On US Sports Net - Orlando Predators vs Jacksonville Sharks

Sharks Defeat Defending Champs 35-24

JACKSONVILLE – The Jacksonville Sharks (3-1) dominated the defending champs in the second half of tonight’s game and came out on top 35-24 in low scoring brawl between the two best defenses in the NAL. Jacksonville’s freakish performance on defense tonight led to the (3-1) Carolina Cobras lowest scoring game in team history with 24 points total and only six points in the second half.

The Sharks secondary played a major factor in tonight’s victory as defensive backs Seth Ellis and Markus Smith both hauled in interceptions against Cobras quarterback Charles McCullum. Early in tonight’s game Jack Linebacker Cody Saul caught an interception that he returned for 21 yards. Saul’s pick that nearly went for six really set the tempo in the Sharks favor which seemed to linger all night in a “rockin” Sharks Tank.

Offensively, quarterback Jonathan Bane had a slow start but finished the night as the Offensive Player of the Game with 17-of-36 for 232 yards, and four touchdowns. The Bane and Wilson show featured another great episode as the star receiver Devin Wilson attacked the Cobras all night with seven receptions for 102 yards and three touchdowns. Neal had another great game for Jacksonville totaling six receptions, for 68 yards and two touchdowns.

After the win tonight the Sharks advance to 3-1 and are now on a hot three-game win streak going into next week where they will play their rivals the (1-3) Orlando Predators Saturday, May 18th at 7pm in Jacksonville for Military Appreciation Night presented by Ocean Grove RVs. Get Tickets.....
