BOWIE, Md. - The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) released its weekly softball honor roll today and Bowie State juniors Stefanie Ray (Damascus, Md.) and Inaya Jones (Baltimore, Md.) were selected Pitcher and Offensive Player of the Week respectively.
In Bowie State's only games this week (vs. Lincoln (Pa.), Ray blanked the Lady Lions 23-0 and 8-0, allowed just one hit in game one of the twinbill and recorded a perfect game in game two. Overall, Ray struck out 26 batters and batted .500 for the week. Jones paced the Bulldogs in two winning games over the week, leading the team with an .857 batting average in seven at bats, six hits to include a double, triple and homerun,10 RBI and scored four runs.
The Bulldogs are currently in second place in the CIAA Northern Division with a 4-0 record (9-1 in the league) and 12-12 overall.
