Bowie State Bulldogs Predicted To Finish First in the CIAA Northern Division Andre Jackson Named to Preseason All-CIAA Team

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The 2014-2015 CIAA Men's Predicted Order of Finish and Pre-Season All-CIAA Team were announced at the Annual Basketball Press Conference held at the Charlotte Convention Center Thursday (October 2nd) afternoon.

The Bowie State Bulldogs were picked to finish atop in the CIAA Northern Division as voted by the CIAA Men's Basketball Coaches Association. Defending CIAA Champion Livingstone College is picked to finish first in the CIAA Southern Division.

When asked about this year’s team, sixth year head coach Darrell Brooks said, “This year is a little different for us … We’re kind of a young team and have six guys returning. Of those six, we have solid returners and I’m really excited and like our pieces.”

Of the individual student-athletes honored Bowie State junior Andre Smith (Owings Mills, Md.) was selected by the CIAA Coaches. Jackson played in 25 games last season, ranked fifth on the team in scoring (7.4 ppg) and third in rebounds (3.8 rpg).

Last season, the Bowie State University Bulldogs won the conference’s Northern Division crown and finished the season with a 14-14 overall record and 8-8 CIAA record. A complete list of the 2014-2015 Pre-Season Team and Predicted Order of Finish is as follows;
