Creating Confident Coaches

We believe that the best way to grow the lacrosse is by empowering lacrosse coaches with the knowledge that will make them successful. Lacrosse is growing so fast that the number of coaches with lacrosse experience is overshadowed by the number of teams to coach. Many places rely on parent volunteers who may not have any experience with lacrosse. We create lacrosse coaching videos that all coaches can watch for free on YouTube and Facebook. Also, many of our videos are paired with a PDF Book this course....

Concealed Carry Featuring: LASR and WEE-1 Tactical Focus on Youth Shooting – SHOT Show 2022

by Matthew Maruster

Youth shooting sports don't get much publicity. So, I want to mention two companies here at SHOT Show working to support training children and young adults to be safe and proficient.

LASR (Laser Activated Shot Reporter) —

If you're familiar with our content, you've heard how much we love LASR (Laser Activated Shot Reporter). LASR is a company whose software pairs with a laser training gun like a SIRT or a laser cartridge. The software records shots and appropriate data to help you practice off the range. The LASR X software is incredibly useful and includes many features others do not. That is why we pair with the company for our monthly Shooter Ready Challenge.

Click HERE to learn more about LASR software capabilities.

LASR is working to help bring awareness to the Scholastic Shooting Sports Pistol Program. This program helps develop youth shooting programs and is a conduit to the U.S. Olympic Shooting Team. LASR is assisting by providing its software to regional organizations to facilitate the development of training programs and more effective practice.

The team at LASR wants to hear from you if you are involved in youth shooting sports in any capacity.

WEE-1 Tactical —

The second company is called Wee-1 Tactical. This company produces a very neat product specifically for teaching children how to shoot rifles. More specifically, the AR-15. The company's stated goal is:

Our vision is to develop a line of shooting platforms that will safely help adults introduce children to the shooting sports.

The product is called the JR-15. It is an AR-15 chambered in .22LR, but with a twist. Their rifle is 20% smaller than a traditional AR-15. So instead of teaching your child to shoot a full-size AR-15 chambered in .22LR, they have one sized appropriately for their size and strength.

wee-1 tactical

The gun operates and has the same controls as a regular AR-15, except for the patented safety selector switch. The child can't move the selector to ‘fire' without manipulating a selector on the other side. I think this is a fantastic way to teach a child how to get involved in shooting sports in a safe manner.

The gun's MSRP is $399 and comes with a 1-round magazine for training early on. There will also be 5 and 10 round magazines available. The gun doesn't ship with any sighting system, but it has a standard Picatinny rail with M-LOK on top, so you can mount any sighting system you want your child to learn. The JR-15 only weighs around 2 pounds, and the overall length is 30 7/8 inches.

Follow Us —

Okay, that's it for yesterday. We have a lot more exciting content we will be publishing over the next few days, but I have to get back to the show floor. Consider following our Facebook and Instagram social media pages because we post videos and photos as we find exciting things throughout the day.

  • Author Mizanur Rahman

It’s easy to get confused when it comes to health and nutrition. Even qualified experts often seem to hold opposing opinions, which can make it difficult to figure out what you should actually be doing to optimize your health.

Yet, despite all the disagreements, a number of wellness tips are well supported by research.

Here are 5 health and nutrition tips that are based on scientific evidence. (Continued below....)

Glutathione deficiency is a common feature that complicates infections. 1. Limit sugary drinks

Sugary drinks like sodas, fruit juices, and sweetened teas are the primary source of added sugar in the American diet (1Trusted Source).

Unfortunately, findings from several studies point to sugar-sweetened beverages increasing risk of heart disease and type 2 diabetes, even in people who are not carrying excess body fat

Sugar-sweetened beverages are also uniquely harmful for children, as they can contribute not only to obesity in children but also to conditions that usually do not develop until adulthood, like type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease

Healthier alternatives include:

unsweetened teas

sparkling water

  1. Eat nuts and seeds

Some people avoid nuts because they are high in fat. However, nuts and seeds are incredibly nutritious. They are packed with protein, fiber, and a variety of vitamins and minerals.

Nuts may help you lose weight and reduce the risk of developing type 2 diabetes and heart disease.

Additionally, one large observational study noted that a low intake of nuts and seeds was potentially linked to an increased risk of death from heart disease, stroke, or type 2 diabetes.

  1. Avoid ultra-processed foods

Ultra-processed foods are foods containing ingredients that are significantly modified from their original form. They often contain additives like added sugar, highly refined oil, salt, preservatives, artificial sweeteners, colors, and flavors as well.

Examples include:

snack cakes

fast food

frozen meals

canned foods

Ultra-processed foods are highly palatable, meaning they are easily overeaten, and activate reward-related regions in the brain, which can lead to excess calorie consumption and weight gain. Studies show that diets high in ultra-processed food can contribute to obesity, type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and other chronic conditions.

In addition to low quality ingredients like inflammatory fats, added sugar, and refined grains, they’re usually low in fiber, protein, and micronutrients. Thus, they provide mostly empty calories.

  1. Don’t fear coffee

Despite some controversy over it, coffee is loaded with health benefits.

It’s rich in antioxidants, and some studies have linked coffee intake to longevity and a reduced risk of type 2 diabetes, Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s diseases, and numerous other illnesses

The most beneficial intake amount appears to be 3–4 cups per day, although pregnant people should limit or avoid it completely because it has been linked to low birth weight.

However, it’s best to consume coffee and any caffeine-based items in moderation. Excessive caffeine intake may lead to health issues like insomnia and heart palpitations. To enjoy coffee in a safe and healthy way, keep your intake to less than 4 cups per day and avoid high-calorie, high-sugar additives like sweetened creamer.

  1. Eat fatty fish

Fish is a great source of high-quality protein and healthy fat. This is particularly true of fatty fish, such as salmon, which is loaded with anti-inflammatory omega-3 fatty acids and various other nutrients.

Studies show that people who eat fish regularly have a lower risk for several conditions, including heart disease, dementia, and inflammatory bowel disease.

Some people avoid nuts because they are high in fat. However, nuts and seeds are incredibly nutritious. They are packed with protein, fiber, and a variety of vitamins and minerals.

The Sinner’s Need Of Christ. And The Rock Almighty New Year, Renewed Faith

  • Author Smithsfalls Adventist

Welcome to Chapter 1: The Sinner’s Need of Christ

In Short:

Why does sinner need help?

Why only Christ could provide that remedy?

Mankind was originally:

endowed with noble abilities

with a well-balanced mind

perfect in their being

in harmony with God

with pure thoughts and holy aims.

Humanity was made captive by Satan (Continued below.....)

The battle of our souls continues warriors! While there seems to be the specter of the evil one and his doing, we know the Kingdom of God wins in the end.

(....Continued......) After they sinned, our first parents could no longer find joy in holiness. Furthermore, they sought to hide from the presence of God. Such is still the condition of the unrenewed heart. We are not in harmony with God, and find no joy in communion with Him. The sinners could not be happy in God’s presence. They would shrink from the companionship of holy beings. There thoughts, interests and motives, would be alien to those that actuate the sinless dwellers there. Heaven would be to them a place of torture.

It is no arbitrary dictate on the part of God that excludes the wicked from heaven. They are shut out by their own unfitness for its companionship. The glory of God would be to them a consuming fire. They would welcome destruction, that they might be hidden from the face of Him who died to redeem them. Moreover, human race would have remained so forever had not God specially interposed. Satan would point to all this evil he caused such as:

state of misery and degradation

darkness, accusations, deceptions and lies

alienation and damnation

lack of satisfaction and crashed by the weight of gilt

no future but death

as the result of God’s work in creating man.

The Sinner’s Need of Christ

It is impossible for us, of ourselves, to escape from the pit of sin in which we are sunken. Our hearts are evil, and we cannot change them.

Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. John 3:3

In other words, unless he or she receives a new heart, desires, purposes and motives, all leading to a new life, they cannot see the kingdom of God. There must be a power working from within, a new life from above, before men can be changed from sin to holiness. That power is Christ.

Those who have experienced the love of Christ cannot be idlers in the Master’s vineyard. They will see opportunities for helping others in their steps to Christ. Partaking of Christ’s love, they will labor for the souls of others. Let every soul copy the Pattern, and become missionaries in the highest sense, winning souls to Jesus.

May we all Repent, Confess, Grow up into Christ, and Rejoice in the Lord.

THE BLESSING OF FAMILY and 10 Keys To Maximizing Time

by Creflo Dollar

God wants the best for us and wants to bless us in every area of our lives. One of the ways He does this is by surrounding us with people who love and care for us. We’ve been created to be in relationship with one another, and loving families are one of the ways God tells us how He feels about us. These relationships can greatly strengthen and encourage us when we put Him in the center of our family circle.

From God’s perspective, a family isn’t just a group of people haphazardly thrown together. He has a specific reason for choosing certain individuals as family members. This doesn’t mean that all family members will be perfect; we’re all human and we each have our own flaws. However, His presence makes a family more than just the sum of each individual person. “For where two or three gather together as my followers, I am there among them” (Matthew 18:20, NLT).

God expresses His love through the family unit. He can bless the parents through the children, and the children through the parents. He can, and will, do amazing things if we just let Him do His work. “The Lord bless thee, and keep thee: The Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace” (Numbers 6:24-26).

The world doesn’t know God, and therefore has no idea what healthy family relationships look like. Families formed according to worldly standards can get caught up in strife and torn apart by negativity and bad influences. By contrast, the godly family has its origins in heaven. “For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named” (Ephesians 3:14, 15). Families who put Jesus first position themselves to receive abundant blessings; they stand out like a bright light in a dark room.

Being part of the family of God sets us apart from the world. It gives us access to His supernatural love, which is the most powerful force in the universe. As His children, we must be prepared to live in a spiritually dark environment that doesn’t recognize us. “Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him” (1 John 3:1, NKJV). In spite of that, we still have the ability—and the responsibility—to share that love with others.

One of the characteristics of membership in God’s family is that everyone is united in love. We don’t have to be perfect, just willing to let God work through us to reach others. How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!... It is as if the dew of Hermon  were falling on Mount Zion. For there the Lord bestows his blessing, even life forevermore” (Psalm 133:1, 3, NIV). This is something we desperately need in a divided world.

To bless is to empower to succeed. In the Old Testament, Joseph succeeded and prospered greatly because God blessed him. Joseph flourished because God was with him; it’s the same way with families today. Before you do anything, put your trust totally in God and not in yourself. Then every plan you make will succeed” (Proverbs 16:3, TPT). We succeed and prosper, both on an individual level and as a family, when we welcome God’s presence.

US High School Basketball 3 Transition Offensive Drills to Play Fast and Yiğit Kuş Basketball Recruiting Video (Class of 2023)

3 Transition Offensive Drills to Play Fast

  • By Jaycob Ammerman

Seton Hall Head Women's basketball Coach Tony Bozzella is one of the best at pushing the tempo on offense.

He has led the Seton Hall women to two NCAA Tournaments and holds the best winning percentage in school history for women’s basketball.

Playing fast looks like it would just be easy -- just go out and rebound and run.

Yiğit Kuş Basketball Recruiting Video (Class of 2023)

Coachtube and Tom Izzo

Of course we know that is not the case. Playing with a tempo consists of many details that go into a successful transition offense.

Coach Bozzella’s transition offense starts in practice.

Here are 3 drills that Coach Bozzella believes will help make a better transition offensive team:

1) 2 Man Layups

The two man layups drill works on the small details of a transition offense.

In this workout, we are looking to work on jump stops, passing and running wide to score the basketball.

The objective of the drill is to score 25 layups each side -- so 50 total in 2 minutes.

This will help create the proper pace and perfect trips up and down the court.

This needs to be done precisely to be able to finish the drill on time.

Watch the video demo here.....

2) Rebound - Outlet - Long Pass Drill

The Rebound - Outlet - Long Pass drill is done to create good habits.

The habit of passing ahead and creating spacing are the key points to a good offense.

Start on the baseline with 2 players wide on the corners ready to run around a cone full court on a missed shot.

The goal is to get between 142-150 points in 4 minutes.

Scoring of the game consists of: 1 point for layup, 2 points for 2’s, and 3 points for 3’s, and a team would lose a point on any missed layup.

Watch the video demo here......

3) Raptor Drill

The Raptor Drill is designed to put the offense in game-like situations where the offense is at an advantage.

It consists usually of a 4 on 3 drill or a 3 on 2 → 2 on 1 drill.

Seton Hall’s philosophy is that they want to score in 8 seconds or less; therefore, they put 8 seconds on the shot clock for this drill.

Keep score -- and the loser will run after.

Watch the video demo here......

A really good transition offensive team is a nightmare to guard.

But, how do you practice it and implement it?

Coach Bozzella creates quick hitters that can improve your transition offense game in and game out.

This course is filled with concepts that will make your team better in the transition.

Why You Must be Careful About Celebrity Weight Loss and Ask Henry Cavill | MuscleTech

  • Author Brian Murray

Do ever find yourself jealous of those fabulous figures you see on the red carpet and in the movies, and wonder what is the secret behind celebrity weight loss? A celebrity might get caught with some candid photos of him or her on the beach, not looking so fit, and then a month or two later they're posing for shots that show off their fabulously toned figure or ripped abs. What really is the secret behind celebrity weight loss, and why do we say it's good to be careful of what you see happening with those superstars?

Favorite foods, Kal, and cardio - we talked to Henry Cavill about some of his favorite things, and found out why sweet potatoes are not among them.
| Shop MuscleTech |

One thing to remember about celebrity weight loss is that they often don't care too much about their health but about their looks. They are paid to look a certain way and many are willing to sacrifice their overall health in order to achieve that look. Crash dieting, dangerous supplements that do nothing but cause an artificially high heart rate, and even surgery is not unusual when it comes to celebrity weight loss. Sure, they look good but how much damage have they done to themselves overall? Using dangerous products or following dangerous programs can cause long-term damage to the heart, metabolism, blood sugar, and muscle tone. In some extreme cases it can even shorten one's life! So while celebrity weight loss may look good when they're filming a movie or showing up for an awards show, it won't look so good a few years from now when they're suffering the consequences.

In some cases however celebrity weight loss is achieved through safe and natural means, and this is something that may interest you as well. Many celebrities hire personal trainers and yoga instructors, especially when preparing for a certain movie role or when getting into shape for a special occasion, and in this regard you can do the same thing. The same trainers that work on celebrity weight loss often have programs that they design and then make available through DVD sets you can follow at home. For example, Debbie Sieber's Slim in 6 program can slim you down and get you toned in six weeks, safely and effectively. Tony Horton has trained many celebrities and also has many DVD sets you can follow for the same results. And trainers like this will no doubt tell you that safe and effective celebrity weight loss can be achieved but only if a program is followed carefully, along with the proper diet and nutrition program.

You can achieve results much like the celebrity weight loss you see if you follow a safe program and make sure those programs are designed by experts. Rather than risking your health and safety through extreme measures as some celebrities do, follow the better route of using the same trainers and programs they do! After all, no amount of weight loss and toning, even if it rivals celebrity weight loss, is worth risking your health and your safety for the long-term.

You should not be embarrassed about wanting to get into better shape. You can shed those pounds with proven workouts like P90X and Hip Hop Abs!
