Theo Wease Jr is a TOP WR in 2019 Class: (2016 Allen Season Highlights) and I want to play college football - Getting recruited for football

I want to play college football - Getting recruited for football
By: Josh Rice

The recruiting process can be a confusing thing to a young student athlete who doesn't know anyone who's gone through it before. If you are feeling totally lost like I was in high school, here are 3 simple steps to get your recruiting journey on its way.

Step One-

Where do you want to play? Everyone has their dream program where they've wanted to play ever since they started playing football. But you've got to leave yourself open to other options because life doesn't always work out the way you planned. Make a list of the top five schools you want to play for (for most people these are the big name Division 1 schools). Then make a list of about ten to fifteen other schools that may not be your all time favorite but that you would like to play for. Then pick around twenty to twenty five programs that are schools where you would like to play for because of varied reasons like their geographic location or maybe have an education program that you are interested in i.e. you want to be a writer and they have an excellent journalism school. Don't just limit yourself to Division 1 schools either. Of course they are going to be on the top of your list but you should also include Division IAA schools, Division II and III as well as Junior Colleges and NIAA's. To increase your odds you should be contacting anywhere from close to 50-100 coaches.

Step Two-

Write your Educational and Athletic Cover Letter and post it. This is usually a document that is no longer than one page with all of your important school and football information on it. You'll have things like your name and contact information, GPA, Class Rank, as well as your ACT and SAT scores if you have taken them at that point, and any extracurricular activities. You will also have things like your height, weight, position, maybe any accurate combine numbers, your statistics by year and any honors you have received like All Conference. Also include references like your high school coaches phone and e-mail number. This should be brief and to the point. If you think some information is not important, then don't include it, because coaches see tons of these things all the time and only look for certain things. Now start posting this on online recruiting sites, as well as mailing or e-mailing it to coaches. Do not mass email your Cover Letter to coaches without first taking the time to personalize it, like putting Dear, (Coaches Name), and writing a few lines about why you want to play for their program. If you don't do this it makes you look lazy. If you don't take the time to personalize it, the coach probably won't take the time to look at it. If you need more help you can always Google search "Athletic Cover letter" or "Athletic Resume".

Step Three-

Create a Highlight video. Back when was in high school (wow that makes me feel old) most of the games were filmed on VHS and you had to get two VCR's to edit your highlight tape. Now it is much easier to upload your video to a computer edit it and then post it online, so a coach can watch it over the internet. This makes things a lot cheaper. Coaches usually want to see a highlight tape and then a film of a full game if they are interested in you. When it comes to your highlight tape, don't worry about cool effects or good music. The coach will most likely just mute the video and you don't want silly effects distracting from what's really important, you making plays. On your highlight tape try and put all your better plays towards the front because coaches don't have much time to be watching your video all day. When you send your video to the coach make sure you also attach your Cover Letter.

The key to getting recruited is to keep your options open, stay positive, and persistent, and it should pay off in the end.

ChennisBerryChennis BerryAssistant Head Coach / Offensive Coordinator / Offensive Line Southern University
Chennis Berry was hired as the Assistant Head Coach/Co-Offensive Coordinator and Offensive Line Coach at Southern University in 2013. In his two seasons with the program, he has helped guide the Jaguars to two SWAC West titles and the 2013 SWAC Championship. Southern ranked seventh nationally in fewest sacks allowed in 2014 and led the SWAC in Red Zone efficiency. Individually, OL Dewayne Houston and WR Willie Quinn were each named All-Americans and First Team All-SWAC selections while QB Austin Howard was named the conference’s freshman of the year.

In 2013, QB Dray Joseph earned SWAC Co-Offensive Player of the Year honors for his role in leading the Jaguars to their first conference championship since 2003. WR Lee Doss was named an All-American and First Team All-SWAC while OL Anthony Mosley received Second Team All-SWAC honors. Under Berry’s direction, Joseph, Doss and Mosley combined to lead the SWAC in Passing Efficiency and earn a second place conference ranking in Passing Offense. Overall, Berry has 20 years of college coaching experience and has earned an excellent reputation for developing solid offensive lines while orchestrating rushing attacks that lead to record-breaking performances.

Over his career, Berry has also shown a willingness to expand his coaching knowledge. As part of the NFL's Minority Internship Program, Berry has interned with six different NFL teams, including the Jacksonville Jaguars, Indianapolis Colts, Cleveland Browns, Detroit Lions, San Diego Chargers and Chicago Bears. In 2009, he participated in the NCAA Expert Coaches Academy Forum. The program prepares young minority assistant coaches for head coaching positions.

A native of Cleveland, Berry came to Southern following two seasons as the co-offensive coordinator and offensive line coach at Howard University. In 2012, the Bison finished second in the MEAC with a 7-4 record which was the program’s first winning season in seven years. The offensive line was key to the Bison’s success as Howard finished 2nd in the MEAC with a 365.4 yards per game average. The Bison also were second in the MEAC in rushing with 221.5 yards per game average. These accomplishments led to four Howard offensive linemen earning All-MEAC honors (Josh Matthews, Davin Morris, Bradley Bush Johnson, and David Wilson). The offensive line also blocked for the MEAC’s leading rusher, Terrence Lefall, who rushed for 1,200 yards in only eight games.

How to Play Darts
By: Terrance Blakeley

Darts is a wonderfully social game whether you play at home with friends and family, or you play just to meet new people at your local bar. Darts is a fairly simple game to play, but requires a lot of practice and skill to become good. There are many different games you can play, but nearly every one of them involves each player alternating turns to throw three darts at the board, then recording that score. Darts does not require a lot of equipment. All you need to play it is a dartboard, a set of three darts, and an opponent.

Nearly all dart games require some basic math skills as you are throwing the darts at number targets. The dartboard itself is divided into twenty sectors separated by a wire. These sectors are labeled from one to twenty. They are easily differentiated by alternating black and yellow areas on the board, and are also called singles as they are worth the same number of points as the value of that sector.

Regardless of whether you use a bristle dartboard or electronic dartboard, you will also notice that there are two rings that go around a dartboard that use alternating red and green colors. The outside ring is called the double ring. This corresponds to the numbers around the dartboard but are worth double the points.

The smaller inside ring is the triple ring. This corresponds to the point value of its sector, but is worth three times as much.

The center circle on the dartboard is known as the Bull. The green ring known as the outer bull or single bull and is worth 25 points. The inner red circle is known as the inner bull, double bull or bullseye and is worth 50 points.

Finally, there is also an out of play area on a dartboard. This is the area from the edge of the dartboard to the the outside wire of the double ring where the numbers are displayed. If a dart land here, it is worth nothing.

The highest score possible on a dartboard with three darts is one hundred and eighty points. This is done by throwing all three darts into the triple twenty.

To decide who gets to throw their darts first, both players throw one dart at the board and whoever is closet to the bull goes first. This process of determining who throws first is known as "diddle for the middle."

The most common way to play darts is the game known as '01. The game starts with each player on a set number like 301, 501, or 701. 501 is the game you will see professionals playing on TV. The players then take turns to see who can be the first to reach zero by subtracting the points they scored after each turn. However, zero can only be reached with your last dart landing into a double or the bullseye. You can never have less than two points as double one is the lowest double. If you score more than the required number to finish, you are said to have bust, and your score remains the same. Finishing a game of '01 is called checking out. The highest checkout possible in a game of '01 is 170 points, achieved by throwing two triple twenties and a bullseye. A game of 501 can be won in just nine darts. This requires the player to throw 180 (three triple twenties) on their first two turns, which leaves a score of 141. This can then be finished in a number of ways, the most common being triple twenty, triple nineteen, and double twelve. Another way to play '01 is to start with a double-in so no player can start scoring until they hit a double first. This is just one example of how to score a game of darts but their are many other different games you can play.

If it is your first time throwing darts, you might be surprised to find how easy it is to miss the dartboard. While there is no right or wrong way to throwing darts, there are a few pointers you can follow to make sure you hit the board. You need to concentrate on the target you are trying to hit, and throw the darts from eye level in a effort to make the dart fly along the imaginary line from your eyes to the board. Don't flick the dart with your wrist when you throw. Instead, when you release the dart, let your arm follow through in a smooth fluid motion. Darts fly through the air quite easily, and will easily stick into the board. You do not have to throw them with all your strength. Make sure both feet are touching the ground, and do not lean too far forward or you'll lose your balance.

Self Defense Instructor Exposes How To Get Realistic Self Defense Lessons

By: Mark Jordan
Not all self defense lessons are the same. As economies decline worldwide, street crimes including robbery, theft, rape and kidnappings are escalating quickly in developed as well as third-world countries. Because of the growing number of street crimes, more and more people are asking about self defense lessons. However, most self-defense seminars available are of little practical value.

There are a lot of people out there proclaiming to be "experts", showing many styles of martial arts and self defense lessons. The fact is, most of them haven’t got a clue what they’re doing. These people clearly have NO firsthand knowledge in dealing with actual attacks and the methods they’re teaching simply WILL NOT work against an honest-to-goodness criminal. In fact, it would most likely get you killed if you were to ever try such nonsense.

So, how do you know that any particular program is teaching realistic self defense? Ask!

Tactical Workouts

Revolutionary Tactical Strength And Conditioning Program Provides A Simple Training Blueprint To Help Cops, Soldiers, And Prepared Citizens Gain Tactical Muscle

The best method to be sure you will be receiving useful self defense lessons is to ask a lot of questions. Ask questions about the instructor's history. Ask if a little person will actually be able to make the techniques work against a much larger attacker. And, inquire if it includes all types of situations such as being attacked from behind, attacks while on the ground, weapon attacks and multiple attackers. If you ask enough questions, you will either get the feeling it is a good program, or they're just leading you on.

The most important question you should ask is, how much time is spent on the subject of crime prevention; you know, things like, keep your car doors locked and don’t go to unfamiliar areas alone. Contrary to popular presumption, self defense lessons should spend less than 10% of the time discussing crime prevention. All that is common sense and you’ve probably already heard it before anyway. Fact is, there are plenty of resources out there for that kind of information, if you want it. You might contact your local police department and I'm sure they can provide you with an excellent brochure on the subject.

You see, crime prevention and self defense are NOT the same thing. The truth is that no matter how much you attempt to evade trouble, trouble can still find you. Sensible self defense lessons must be based on the assumption that you’ve already tried everything you know how to do to avert an unwanted confrontation. It's a big clue that they don't really understand self defense, when they try to fill the schedule with unrelated material. Unfortunately, most people don't recognize the fraud.

You need to learn how to deal with confrontations quickly, intelligently and with total confidence in your capability to protect yourself. Practical self defense lessons will teach you highly successful techniques that have been proven to work in many different scenarios. It doesn’t matter if it is another person’s inappropriate touch, or a violent attack from a criminal who really wants to do serious harm. The skills must be simple, easy to learn and easy to recall. With a little bit of practice, these movements can become automatic reactions to an attack. That way you can get yourself quickly out of danger in just a matter of seconds.

Jesse Duplantis All You've Got To Do Is Ask ( NEW MESSAGE )

What We Believe

The Scriptures

The Bible is the inspired Word of God, the product of holy men of old who spoke and wrote as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. The new Covenant, as recorded in the New Testament, we accept as our infallible guide in matters pertaining to conduct and doctrine (2Tim. 3:16; 1Thess. 2:13; 2Peter 1:21).

The Godhead

Our God is one, but manifested in three persons—the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, being co-equal (Phil. 2:6). God the Father is greater than all; the Source of the Word (Logos) and the Begetter (John 14:28; John 16:28; John 1:14). The Son is the Word flesh-covered, the One Begotten, and has existed with the Father from the beginning (John 1:1; John 1:14; John 1:18). The Holy Spirit proceeds forth from both the Father and the Son and is eternal (John 15:26).

Man, His Fall, and Redemption

Man is a created being made in the likeness and the image of God, but through Adam’s transgression and fall, sin came into the world. “All have sinned and come short of the glory of God…” (Rom. 3:23) and “As it is written, there is none righteous, no, not one…” (Rom. 3:10). Jesus Christ, the Son of God, was manifested to undo the work of the devil and He gave His life and shed His blood to restore man back to God (Rom. 3:23; 1John 3:8). Salvation is the gift of God to man, separate from works and the law, and is made operative by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, producing works acceptable to God (Eph. 2:8).

Eternal Life and New Birth

Man’s first step toward salvation is godly sorrow that produces repentance. The new birth is necessary to all men, and when fulfilled, produces eternal life (2Cor. 7:10; 1John 5:12; John 3:3-5).

Water Baptism

Baptism in water by immersion, is a direct commandment of our Lord, and is for believers only. The ordinance is a symbol of the Christian’s identification with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection (Matt. 28:19; Rom. 6:4; Col. 2:12; Acts 8:36-39).

Baptism In The Holy Ghost

The Baptism in the Holy Ghost and fire is a gift from God as promised by the Lord Jesus Christ to all believers in this dispensation and is received subsequent to the new birth. This experience is accompanied by the initial evidence of the speaking in other tongues as the Holy Spirit Himself gives utterance (Matt. 3:11; John 14:16,17; Acts 1:8; Act 19:1-7; Acts 2:4).

Sanctification

The Bible teaches that without holiness, no man can see the Lord. We believe in the Doctrine of Sanctification as a definite, yet progressive work of grace, commencing at the time of regeneration and continuing until the consummation of salvation (Heb. 12:14; 1Thess. 5:23; 2Peter 3:18; 2Cor. 3:18; Phil. 3:12-14; 1Cor. 1:30).

Divine Healing

Healing is for the physical ills of the human body and is wrought by the power of God through the prayer of faith, and by the laying on of hands. It is provided for in the atonement of Christ, and is the privilege of every member of the Church today (Mark 16:18; James 5:14-16; 1Peter 2:24; Matt. 8:17; Isa. 53:4-5).

Resurrection of the Just and the Return of Our Lord

The angels said, “…this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.” (Acts 1:11). His coming is imminent. When He comes, “For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.” (1Thess. 4:16,17). Following the tribulation, He shall  return to earth as King of Kings, and Lord of Lords and together with His saints, who shall be kings and priests, He shall reign a thousand years  (Rev. 20:6).

Hell and Eternal Retribution

The one who physically dies in his sin without Christ is hopelessly and eternally lost in the Lake of Fire, and therefore, has no further opportunity of hearing the Gospel or repenting. The Lake of Fire is literal. The terms “eternal” and “everlasting” used in describing the duration of the punishment of the damned in the Lake of Fire, carry the same thought and meaning of endless existence as used in denoting the duration of joy and ecstasy of saints in the presence of God (Heb. 9:27; Rev. 19:20).
