Hey PGA pros. Let's make Tiger Happy

The last thing I would want on the course after all of this muck is an even more motivated Tiga, Tiga, Tiga, Woods Ya'll. It is obvious that this guy has mastered the Sports Psychological art of turning 'Lemons into lemonade' The more turmoil that surrounds him the more focused he becomes.
Sergio, Phil, Vijay and all the rest of you give Tiger a call of support and hope that he isn't mad enough to smoke all of you when he returns to the course.

Why I Got Started

Ever since that first bite of real food, I was introduced to bad fitness and nutritional habits. I have always been accustomed to overeating, and constantly consuming foods with poor nutritional value. My body began to change in a negative way and I was not active, thanks to junk foods, oily meals, and overused couches.

When it came time to participate in outdoor activities, the task of playing and running around was a challenge and I would end up in back pain and shortness of breath in a matter of seconds. In 9th grade, through continuous poor eating habits and exercise negligence, I personally came face to face with my arch enemy, obesity.

I've learned to disguise my weight by emphasizing my humor. I'd emphasized being the "funny girl" and connected with people in a way that made sure that the first thing they didn't notice about me was my obesity. However, under all the laughter was a girl who, in some ways, felt socially limited because of her size.

It wasn't until my freshmen year in high school that my "unhealthiness" really began to bite back. The tactics I've used to hide my weight didn't work when I decided to join the high school volleyball and tennis team. For me, keeping up with the team during practices was like trying to keep up with a pack of leopards.

That's when I knew my body was in crying need of a change. My bad habits needed to be adjusted not only for my own benefit, but for my family as well who needed a model, motive, and mentor to jump start a healthy and active lifestyle. At 5'4" tall, and an unhealthy weight of 226 pounds, I knew I was about to embark on a strenuous journey. (More....)

Oh My Dis Da Big One!

Yep the biggie High School football game of the year will take place at the Prince Georges Sports and Learning Complex Friday Night 7pm. As the Undefeated DeMatha Stags Take on the yes undefeated Good Counsel Falcons.

Both have pretty much secured their playoff positioning barring any mishaps by either after this game. The game also has never been an indicator of what could happen in the post season where DeMatha has won the last 6 WCAC championships; 4 of which were against this Good Counsel squad.

Recruiting junkies should have a field day as top recruits are present on both teams. The defenses should be key here and it could be a low scoring affair with the last team to have the ball coming out on top. Or it could be another whacky finish as this series has proven to be over the years.

If you can't brave the DC area traffic tune in right here at www.ussportsradio.com or any of our super cool affiliates. While your are waiting for countdown have a listen to last year's WCAC championship game on the app here.

Ok let's get busy..

First my apologies as I have not been a good blogger. Hey I am really old I didn't know you were supposed to do this everyday! Now I am 'siced' that I can!
Football, High School, College and Pro is in full swing. Somehow I knew my Raiders were going to find a way to blow it against the bolts. Bobby Bowden is the only 75 plus year old coach I want!
I thought that Mike Vick was one Donovan rib shot away from hitting the field but the Eags' go out and sign JC? hmmm kind of suspicious to this kid.
Tune in this weekend to www.ussportsradio.com for DeMatha High School Football as the Stags open at home against one of the fastest growing programs in the DC area in Friendship Edison Charter School in the District. That is Friday night.
Saturday the Bowie State Bulldogs try to get to .500 on the year as they open CIAA action against Livingstone. Oh my the pigs do fly!

Thanks PETA I am now a Michael Vick Fan! (Kids read this blog with a responsible non-dog-fighting adult)

Even though I had huge respect for his athletic ability and enjoyed watching him use that athleticism wisely and evolve into a unique, and effective Quaterback in the NFL; I was never a Vick fan. Not for his alleged misgivings as a team mate. Not for giving fans the "Stone Cold Salute" with cameras trained on the future "Dogman of Alcatraz".

Not for his one and done trip to the playoffs. No for one simple reason: He was never a Raider QB! So for I just enjoyed the on the field performance of one of the most gifted athletes of our time but never a "GAGA" moment as a fan.

That was until now. After the expected but ridiculous showing today by PETA and their ilk at Eagles training camp, Count Nate Lewis as the newest "DVF" "Defiant Vick Fan". I now wish nothing but championship success for my "boi" although he could only prove this on the field towards the second half of the season.

PETA your 'doodoo el grande' scheme of sensationalizing hate will backfire again. To get a bit off of the subject, hats off to the Humane Society for extending a forgiving PR hand to Vick to intelligently and rationally work to raise awareness and possibly move towards curbing dogfighting worldwide.

Now back to the PETA punks! OOps sorry if I went a little Ghetto on ya! For your own safety please keep your signs and shouts a safe distance from Lincoln Financial Field. How about Santa Barbara! If there is one group of fans that you fresh faced PETA peeps should keep your distance from is Philly fans. They love and hate their Eagles and they wil extend that same love or hate to their QB's after their second interception, not their criminal record. But to you, well you become enough of a distraction to Joey, Boots, and Skeeter, You might find those signs stuffed where very few will see them if you catch my drift.

Now let me make this clear, I have loved and cared for many animals in my life and I find Michael Vicks former activities just as horrible as you do. But by the laws of this country he has served his time. I try to live by Christian values and I bet some of you misguided PETA foolshnanigans do as well. Every hear of forgive? Look it up.

You have the right to protest in this the most free of countries. This is just an opinion, but you have turned Michael Vick into the Underdog (excuse the pun) and there is nothing more appealing to the Amercan psyche than rallying around the one whose the odds are stacked against. So Michael Vick go ahead 'boi'. I look forward to the first time that you cross the goal line or an Eagle receiver catches one of your somewhat accurate passes for 6. Once you do in the mind of the football psyche, all is forgiven.
