How to Stop Domestic Violence
By: Delishia Davis

Domestic Violence is an issue for people of all walks of life. Regardless of social class, gender, economic background or ethnic group, domestic violence is prevalent. Current studies show that one out of every four women is a victim of domestic violence, and there are rising numbers in the male population. This takes the form of emotional, verbal and physical abuse.

As a domestic violence survivor, I am compelled to share the following commandments for interaction with domestic violence victims and survivors. This is not simply crisis counseling, but it is specialized with a systematic approach.

Winter Clearance! Get Up to 40% off Arcteryx, Fjallraven, Marmot, Sorel and more. No Code needed. Exclusions apply.

When interacting with the victim of domestic violence, it is important to govern yourself by the following commandments:

1.Thou shall not make the victim feel as if he/she lacks intelligence and common sense. While he/she chose the partner, he/she did not actively choose to be abused.

2.Thou shall not give unsolicited advice. During the decision-making process, the victim needs both the freedom to make choices and the support of a listening ear.

3.Thou shall not waste time talking about the perpetrator and his/her ill-fated future. Instead, time and attention needs to be directed toward the victim as a plan is developed for survival.

4.Thou shall not tell the victim that they helped to cause the problem. That is "perpetrator mentality" (Read "The Types of Domestic Abuse"). Nothing the victim has said and/or done provides justification for his/her suffering.

5.Thou shall encourage the domestic violence victim with phrases such as "You are an overcomer" and "You have our support". This is a crucial time and the victim will not want to feel alone in the transition.

6.Thou shall listen to the victim with an objective mind.

7.Thou shall locate a secure method of transportation and place of abode, to secure the victim and any other family members from the perpetrator. Do not provide the address and telephone numbers to others, especially during the first months of the transition.

8.Thou shall not have communication with the perpetrator in reference to the abuse, as a means of understanding or reconciliation. Studies will clearly show that perpetrators react in a more violent way towards the victim after he/she has shared it with someone else.

9.Thou shall connect the victim with resources for all needs, so he/she will have no reason to return to the place of residence after making the transition. (There are some stores that provide clothing, toiletries and food to domestic violence victims. Check with your local domestic violence shelter.)

10.Thou shall pray with the victim and direct him/her to scriptures for encouragement and empowerment. Continually emphasize a closer relationship with the Lord.

A time of tribulation with domestic violence is not a final determination on one’s life; it can simply be a turning point for greater things ahead. God bless you as you help others align with their God-directed destiny.

Jesse Duplantis - The Character of Jesus 1/2

[Video below]-Jesse Duplantis preaches at World Harvest Church for the first time.

Jesse Duplantis Ministries:

What We Believe

The Scriptures

The Bible is the inspired Word of God, the product of holy men of old who spoke and wrote as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. The new Covenant, as recorded in the New Testament, we accept as our infallible guide in matters pertaining to conduct and doctrine (2Tim. 3:16; 1Thess. 2:13; 2Peter 1:21).

The Godhead

Our God is one, but manifested in three persons—the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, being co-equal (Phil. 2:6). God the Father is greater than all; the Source of the Word (Logos) and the Begetter (John 14:28; John 16:28; John 1:14). The Son is the Word flesh-covered, the One Begotten, and has existed with the Father from the beginning (John 1:1; John 1:14; John 1:18). The Holy Spirit proceeds forth from both the Father and the Son and is eternal (John 15:26).

Man, His Fall, and Redemption

Man is a created being made in the likeness and the image of God, but through Adam’s transgression and fall, sin came into the world. “All have sinned and come short of the glory of God…” (Rom. 3:23) and “As it is written, there is none righteous, no, not one…” (Rom. 3:10). Jesus Christ, the Son of God, was manifested to undo the work of the devil and He gave His life and shed His blood to restore man back to God (Rom. 3:23; 1John 3:8). Salvation is the gift of God to man, separate from works and the law, and is made operative by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, producing works acceptable to God (Eph. 2:8).

Eternal Life and New Birth

Man’s first step toward salvation is godly sorrow that produces repentance. The new birth is necessary to all men, and when fulfilled, produces eternal life (2Cor. 7:10; 1John 5:12; John 3:3-5).

Water Baptism

Baptism in water by immersion, is a direct commandment of our Lord, and is for believers only. The ordinance is a symbol of the Christian’s identification with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection (Matt. 28:19; Rom. 6:4; Col. 2:12; Acts 8:36-39).

Baptism In The Holy Ghost

The Baptism in the Holy Ghost and fire is a gift from God as promised by the Lord Jesus Christ to all believers in this dispensation and is received subsequent to the new birth. This experience is accompanied by the initial evidence of the speaking in other tongues as the Holy Spirit Himself gives utterance (Matt. 3:11; John 14:16,17; Acts 1:8; Act 19:1-7; Acts 2:4).

Sanctification

The Bible teaches that without holiness, no man can see the Lord. We believe in the Doctrine of Sanctification as a definite, yet progressive work of grace, commencing at the time of regeneration and continuing until the consummation of salvation (Heb. 12:14; 1Thess. 5:23; 2Peter 3:18; 2Cor. 3:18; Phil. 3:12-14; 1Cor. 1:30).

Divine Healing

Healing is for the physical ills of the human body and is wrought by the power of God through the prayer of faith, and by the laying on of hands. It is provided for in the atonement of Christ, and is the privilege of every member of the Church today (Mark 16:18; James 5:14-16; 1Peter 2:24; Matt. 8:17; Isa. 53:4-5).

Resurrection of the Just and the Return of Our Lord

The angels said, “…this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.” (Acts 1:11). His coming is imminent. When He comes, “For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.” (1Thess. 4:16,17). Following the tribulation, He shall  return to earth as King of Kings, and Lord of Lords and together with His saints, who shall be kings and priests, He shall reign a thousand years  (Rev. 20:6).

Hell and Eternal Retribution

The one who physically dies in his sin without Christ is hopelessly and eternally lost in the Lake of Fire, and therefore, has no further opportunity of hearing the Gospel or repenting. The Lake of Fire is literal. The terms “eternal” and “everlasting” used in describing the duration of the punishment of the damned in the Lake of Fire, carry the same thought and meaning of endless existence as used in denoting the duration of joy and ecstasy of saints in the presence of God (Heb. 9:27; Rev. 19:20).Reaching People, Changing Lives, One Soul at a Time

I'm Continuing To Learn

It feels good to be able to get to really know God, His Word, heal, change and laugh as I learn, experience and continue forward.
I recently had surgery on my back and came home to life like a roller coaster ride. I've never liked roller coasters. So I've been crying more, until I remembered the 2 CDs that I have of yours. I play them and I cannot just listen and not laugh. When they are over I feel so different on the inside. I say, "God, thank you for loving me."

I love listening to your teachings and I love hearing the testimonies of healing, salvation, deliverance and love for the ministry. Being able to laugh as I receive strength and new awakening in the love of Christ is awesome.

Lose Love Handles- The Top 5 Ways to Lose Them!

Image result for Down with love handles

When working with clients, it seems like the phrase, “I want to lose the love handles!!!” is thrown around a lot. This statement is totally understandable! Love handles are one of the most frustrating parts of the body to work on. Not only are they unwanted, they also raise the risk of developing dangerous visceral fat that builds up around vital organs.
But despite what any infomercial says, there’s no way to lose weight in one specific area around your body (sorry, but if you think something like the Waist Trainer will really work, you’ve got another thing coming). The only real way to lose the love handles is through hard work, exercise and changing your diet.
Here are 5 things you can start doing right now that’ll help you lose those love handles!!! We know firsthand that these work. Don’t believe it? These Hitch Fit before and after pictures may make you a believer.
1. Change your diet
The most basic method of all! If you want to slim your torso, start by decreasing fatty foods you consume and increase vegetables, lean meats and some fruits (some of the best foods can be found in this blog about super foods!). By making these changes, you’ll avoid consuming those awful empty calories and accelerate your weight loss. Remember: the key to weight loss is 80% diet, 20% exercise.
2. Get your blood pumping
Aerobic cardio exercises like cycling, running and jumping rope are great way to burn overall body fat. Performing aerobic exercises anywhere from 4-6 times per week (at a minimum of 40 minutes each time) will slim decrease the appearance of love handles. Don’t have time for a 40-minute workout? Check out how much you can accomplish during a 15 minute workout (bye-bye belly fat!!!).
3. Give interval training a go
Sometimes, plain old cardio may not be enough (or you may experience a plateau after awhile). Interval training is a great break from the norm; it has also been proven to burn calories like wild fire. If you’re running on a track, sprint the straights and jog or walk the curves—interval training is as simple as that!
4. Hammer those love handles away
Probably the most unconventional ways to send those love handles packing, but effective nonetheless, are sledgehammer workouts. Sledgehammer workouts help burn fat all over the body. At the same time, this exercise also builds muscle in the upper body and strengthens the core.
5. Total body exercise
We’ve got news for you–ab exercises will NOT get rid of your love handles!!!  No matter how many crunches, Russian twists or oblique sit-ups you do, you will not burn those love handles away without hardcore cardio, overall body strength training and proper diet.  Ab exercises alone won’t actually do anything to reduce body fat (in fact, you burn very few calories doing ab exercises, although they are GREAT for the core!!).  The best way to shed body fat is through nutrition, cardio and strength training all combined together.
No one should be doomed to a life with love handles. You can get rid of them starting today!! The decision to live with love handles is up to you. If you’re like us and hate those pesky love handles, join the Hitch Fit revolution today and change your mind, body and life (and kiss those love handles goodbye!).

WEIGHT LOSS COFFEE - Still Getting Huge Results Today!

Lean Trim Diana Here!

It is going to rain today, so I have to hurry and drive to town (45 min.) so this is a short post today about Shiela. Our products were getting huge results in 2016 and continue to get huge results today! We don't make any medical claims   www.leantrimcoffee.info

Shiela:
I am blown away by how effectively this coffee is working on me and I am not even a coffee drinker to begin with! I fully embraced the coffee habit and it sure is easy to sustain. I started drinking the coffee on 06/08/16 through 08/21/16, it's not even a full 3 months yet and I already dropped 20 lbs, more in inches, but I didn't measure, however I could feel it in the way my clothes fit. For the very first time in a long time, I enjoyed shopping for clothes because I'm down a couple of sizes. I could just feel a new sense of self-confidence that I'm regaining. My body is in a better overall state. My doctor called and said my hemoglobin A1C has dropped that they had to reduce my meds. I have no doubt that I will be medication-free in no time. I've been often told to diet and exercise by my doctor as well as concerned family members; although I am aware of what I had to do, I can't seem to follow-through with action steps. But with the results I've seen in just a few short months, it was easy to get motivated to start exercising and to keep up with it. I feel much happier and the joy exudes from the inside out. This space is not enough to write about what I have in my heart to share! I won't ever forget how this weight loss coffee is changing my life, and this is only the beginning.

You’ve spent a great deal of time, effort and resources establishing your brick-and-mortar business at a location with plenty of foot traffic. But there’s another form of traffic you might be ignoring – web traffic. That’s right. Online traffic can be a major boon for your brick-and-mortar business, even if you don’t sell anything online. Why? Because it provides an online space for consumers to acquaint themselves with your offerings.
Here are a few tips for building a website for your brick and mortar business.

Using a Small Business Website Builder

While you could develop your own small business website from scratch, it’s hardly in your best interest to do so. Your focus should be on running your business, not becoming an expert in web development. Luckily, you can still build a beautiful website with minimal expertise thanks to a small business website builder.
When you’re building a website, taking advantage of a good small business website builder is the efficient move. The service also comes with privacy protection, customer support and mobile compatibility. Customization is simple, as most providers offer a variety of stunning themes with accommodations for your own photos, logos and copy.

Anticipating Customer Questions

A lot of small business owners wonder exactly what they should include on their website. Luckily, this is easier to determine than you might think. All you need to do is anticipate your customers’ questions.

Common examples include your location, business hours and contact information. This information should appear at the top and bottom of every page. Some websites even include a contact page on top of this.
Next, you’ll want to include a little bit about yourself and your company history. Consumers will often check the “about us” page to determine the credibility of the company. If you are missing this on your website, you’re hurting your own reputation.
Finally, web users are going to be interested in your offerings. This is your chance to  promote your products or services. Sharing the latest news about your brand, like networking events you’ll be attending, upcoming promotions, partnership announcements, will get your potential customers engaged. . These kinds of posts keep your website looking lively and constantly updated.

Establishing a Blog

Speaking of lively pages, many business websites include a blog section on their website. While it does require a little more time and attention, it’s a wonderful place to keep consumers up to date on your latest offerings.
A blog can also help you attract additional web traffic, if you are willing to get creative. For instance, if your brick-and-mortar shop sells handcrafted wooden cutting boards, you could post a blog about keeping them stain-free. That way, when web users search “how to remove cutting board stains” they will land on your website; thereby introducing them to your brand.
Now that you know the basics of building a website for your brick-and-mortar business, try it for yourself. Visit Yahoo Small Business for great rates on web hosting, business email and so much more!

SteveAxman Steve Axman Former Assistant Head Coach & Offensive Coordinator at University of Idaho
Steve Axman was most recently the quarterback coach at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, Canada. Previous to that, he was the assistant head coach and offensive coordinator at the University of Idaho. Prior to that, he was the wide receivers coach at the University of Washington, a position he assumed before the 2004 season. It was Axman’s second stint on the Huskies staff. Previously, he served as the assistant head coach and quarterbacks coach. Axman oversaw the work of UW record-setting quarterbacks Marques Tuiasosopo and Cody Pickett. During the 2003 season, he was the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at UCLA.

Axman is no stranger to wide-open, multiple offense football or producing top- flight collegiate quarterbacks. During his career, he has worked at four Pac-10 schools (UCLA, Arizona, Stanford, and Washington). Among his former collegiate pupils are Troy Aikman and Drew Olsen (UCLA), Neil O’Donnell (Maryland), Jeff Lewis and Travis Brown (Northern Arizona), and Nate Enderle (Idaho). In 1998 (prior to joining the UW staff the first time), Axman served as the quarterbacks coach at Minnesota under Glen Mason. Before that, Axman was the head coach at Northern Arizona from 1990-97. He inherited a NAU program that had experienced just three winning seasons during the 1980s and had never qualified for the Division I-AA post-season playoffs. During his eight years with the Lumberjacks, Axman guided the team to a 48-41 record, making him the second-winningest coach in Northern Arizona’s history.

Axman’s NAU teams were known for their offensive fireworks. During his eight-year career, Axman’s teams averaged 30 points per game. His 1996 Lumberjack squad set or tied 14 national records and averaged 43.2 points per game en route to a 9-3 overall record and a 6-1 record in the Big Sky Conference. That season produced a secondplace finish in the Big Sky, the school’s first post-season appearance, and a school-best No. 6 national ranking. In 1989, Axman served as quarterbacks coach for Maryland, where he worked with O’Donnell. In 1987-88, he was the offensive coordinator at UCLA, where he coached Aikman. Prior to UCLA, Axman coached at Stanford (1986), with the Denver Gold of the United States Football League (1985), and at the University of Arizona (1980-1984), as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. Axman previously spent a year at Illinois, three seasons at Army, and one season at Albany State. Prior to that, Axman’s first collegiate coaching assignment was at East Stroudsburg State in 1974. A 1969 graduate of C.W. Post College in Greenvale, NY, Axman went on to earn his first master’s degree from Long Island University in 1972 and his second in 1975 while coaching at East Stroudsburg State College.

Axman has authored 12 instructional books on football. He has also been featured on seven well-received instructional videos on football. He is nationally renowned for his knowledge of offensive fundamentals, schemes, and techniques, particularly quarterback play.
