Online Personal Training Client 4 Years Later
We talk so much about Hitch Fit being about a healthy lifestyle change, a Lifetime Fitness Plan that can be utilized at any time in the future. We encourage clients to develop and embrace new eating and exercise habits for life since that is the only key to long term success! Not every client completes transformation in 12 or 16 weeks, there are a lot of things in life that can come up. And guess what, that is o.k.! Since the goal is a lifestyle change, this isn’t a journey that just ends in 12 weeks time. And if it takes longer than 12 weeks to get to that healthy and balanced place in your life, that’s also o.k. (and guess what, very normal for a lot of people!!). We always encourage clients who fall off track or back into old habits, or who have curve balls of life thrown at them, to just get back on track as soon as they can, and just keep moving forward. There’s nothing that can be done about yesterdays choices, but there IS something that can be done about today’s! In light of this, I was so delighted to receive a message from a Hitch Fit Online Personal Training client who signed up for her program back in 2012. She did incredible for her first 10 weeks and made wonderful progress. But the pressures of school and exams and other life issues caught up with her and she found herself sliding backwards. BUT, the beauty of this was that she was now equipped with the knowledge and skills to know what to do to get herself back to a healthy place. Using her Hitch Fit plan, it may have taken a bit longer to get where she wanted to be, but ultimately, when she was really ready, she got there! Amazing job Ashley, you are what Hitch Fit is all about. Message from Ashley: “I wanted to update you! Back in 2012 I began my workout program from you. I was 19 and in first year of university. I struggled making the changes needed to really make progress and find balance to get to my maintenance phase! I wanted to share my transformation with you and let you know how thankful I am for everything you taught me! This truly is an enjoyable lifestyle and I couldn’t be happier to have found you and Micah.. Such motivating people! Again.. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!” Ashley’s Story: “In 2012, I moved across the country leaving all my familiar surroundings behind. I was starting my first year of University and moved into residents to get the full University experience. Along with this experience came many things, a breakdown in my long-term relationship and a steady weight gain. I traded in going to the gym and making healthy choices for unhealthy foods and alcohol. I was so unhappy. It was right before Christmas break that I realized that I had hit rock bottom. I needed something. I began looking online to try and find help and guidance for an online personal trainer to get me back on track. This is when I found Diana & Micah at Hitch Fit. I sent my email and soon after Diana sent me my new program! I felt so many emotions. I was overwhelmed with excitement and was eager to get started! She provided me with endless information about how to be successful. It was soon after that I realized this was going to be important to me for the rest of my life. I knew from the beginning it wasn’t going to be easy. I was making my meal plan work with cafeteria food and making some of my meals in our community kitchen. It was added stress of “I wonder if the cafeteria food will fit my meal plan tonight” but I made it work. Getting workouts in plus cooking on top of my first year course load wasn’t easy. A lot of sacrifices were made and I got a lot of comments like “how do you do it .. you’re crazy”. For 10 weeks I shared my results with Diana weekly and I had lost many inches and dropped my body fat %. At that point I had “quit”. It was exam season and I fell for the sugary treats and late night pizza. My unhealthy relationship with food was overpowering. It was a long summer of trying and failing and eventually hitting my heaviest weight of 185 in October 2013. I was once again striving to try and find BALANCE in my life using the nutrition and mental strategies that Diana taught me back in 2012. At this point, when none of my clothes fit I knew I needed change. I worked endlessly finding just the balance that I had been looking for. It may have taken me longer than I had planned but I am so happy to say that I have finally achieved what I had always been striving for. I feel strong, healthy, fit and most importantly HAPPY! Hitch Fit gave me so much confidence and the mindset that when you really want something there is a way to get there. Nothing worth having comes easy and nothing happens overnight but here I am almost 4 years later still using Hitch Fit. This is a lifestyle and I am so happy to have made it mine! Thank you so much to Diana & Micah!!”

Why Good People Eat Bad Food
Ahh the Holidays! Athletes and Warriors, its the perfect time for indulgence. That seems to be the catch phrase or word for the 2016 Holiday season.
I think its best to go ahead and enjoy as long as you are not taking any high level of health risk (indulging with high blood pressure, diabetes, heart conditions, etc.,). The key is to not beat yourself up on January 2, 2017. Guilt and staying guilty seem to keep a lot of good folk eating bad food. Read on! -Nate Why Good People Eat Bad Food Boston Globe Americans aren't stupid. They've known for years that the fast food they're eating probably isn't good for them. Back in 1988, 60 percent of fast food diners told Consumer Reports that they were "worried" about the nutrient value of fast food, and only four percent felt the food deserved top health marks. The worriers had reason to fret. Although McDonald's and other fast food chains have added salads, grilled chicken, and other healthful entrees in recent years, today's menus are still full of foods that are bad for the heart, such as Burger King's Double Whopper with cheese, which contains a whole day's fat allowance under one wrapper. But that doesn't stop Americans from spending one in every seven food dollars on fast food, as the lure of quick and inexpensive meals outweighs their health concerns. In fact, more than three quarters of fast food eaters believe they're getting good value for their money, according to a recent survey by the National Restaurant Assocation. Now, health researchers warn that many fast foods may be more hazardous than previously believed because so many contain "trans unsaturated fatty acids" or so-called transfats, a particularly hazardous type of fat that doesn't appear on food labels. Many fast-food french fries and other products are cooked in transfats, used to harden the vegetable oils restaurants now use instead of animal fat. Walter C. Willett, chairman of nutrition at the Harvard School of Public Health, has called on the US Food and Drug Administration to require transfat labelling on fast foods as part of the agency's new transfat labelling regulations, arguing that consumers are confused by "deceptive labels such as "cholesterol-free' or "cooked in vegetable oil.' " But, even if the FDA agrees with Willett, few expect transfats to spur a revolution among fast food diners. McDonald's officials thought the anti-fat revolution was at hand once before, in the early 1990s when they trotted out a hamburger with half the fat of normal burgers. By 1997, with sales languishing, the McLean Deluxe was cancelled. "It was launched with high hopes and seeming demand, but . . . there wasn't really very much consumer interest in it," said McDonald's spokesman Walt Riker. However, for those who want to eat healthfully, there are plenty of choices at fast food restaurants, partly because chains know that vegetarians or people on diets can veto the choice of restaurant for an entire group of diners if there is nothing on the menu that they want to eat. In addition, the fast-growing Subway restaurant chain is going directly after health-conscious diners with a national advertising campaign that stresses the low-fat content of their sandwiches. The menu features seven submarine sandwiches containing less than six grams of fat; among hamburgers, only a vegetarian "garden burger" can beat that. Fortunately, there are plenty of guides to help consumers navigate the world of fast food from books such as "The Fast Food Freeway Guide: A Map to Lower Fat and Calories at Fast Food Restaurants," to Internet sites. With a few clicks on Cyberdiet.com's "Fast Food Quest" section, users can compare fat, salt, cholesterol, calories, and other nutrition issues among hundreds of fast foods, comparing individual restaurants directly or seeking out the healthiest foods from all of them. The fast food chains often have nutritional information on-line as well. In the end, Americans' food choices are a contradictory matter in which health and nutrition are just one concern. People consume less fat and more fruit juice than they did 20 years ago, but at the same time they consume far more soda and about 35 percent more calories than the 2,000 recommended by the FDA. And so, they continue to line up to place their orders for such menu items such as the "supersize" Big Mac dinner - all 1,410 calories of it. Copyright The Boston Globe. All rights reserved.

Brian Dropped over 50lbs and off all Medications
There's just too much evidence that proves a healthy lifestyle, brings benefits that no drug or gimmick ever could. Our friends at Hitchfit present another case in point:
-Nate I am so proud of brian for all his hard work. He dropped 52 lbs, dropped over 15% bodyfat and dropped 10″ on his stomach. SIMPLY AMAZING Micah LaCerte When I first started the Hitch fit program, I will be the first to admit I was skeptical. I mean, I’m 41 years old. My most fit years are behind me. Well, at least those were my excuses. At first, I was thinking I would be happy dropping 10 lbs and obtaining a shape that wasn’t round. Well, to my surprise it came off quite quickly. I thought that maybe there is something to this eating and exercise plan. So I shifted my goal…..again. And met that fairly quick. It began to become an addiction, and I was SEEING RESULTS. Motivation was high, I was feeling good. Then an interesting thing happened. I have been on blood pressure medications, cholesterol and triglyceride meds, and I was also taking oral diabetes meds on the verge of being placed on insulin. I went for my routine labs as I always do, and my labs came back nearly normal!! My Hemoglobin A1C (diabetes marker) had previously been 10.7 (5-6 is normal) and was back down to 7. So she wanted to retest. When those results returned they were even better at 6.8. I can happily report to you that I am currently OFF all my medications with normal lab results on EVERY facet of my blood chemistry. I have the documents to prove it. Those are the results of Hitchfit I am most proud of. I was killing myself slowly, and just chalked it up to being a normal process of age. I mean, dropping from 238 lbs to 186 lbs at my lowest weight losing 52 lbs, and dropping from close to 30 percent body fat to close to 11% percent is certainly an added bonus, as is being able to walk around a pool without a shirt and not feeling ridiculous. Knowing that I not only look and feel better, I’m also not a ticking time bomb. Had it not been for Hitchfit, the support and motivation from my wife and family, I would never be where I am now. Who knows, I may not have been here at all! Brian Barnes, age 41. BRIANS PROGRAM CHOICE (did a program with his wife)

PuckHeads Get Serious! Hockey Strength and Conditioning Programs
Ice Hockey is one of the most fun sports to see in person than most as the amazing athletes doing amazing and occasionally violent things on skates!
What's most interesting to me is that a typical Hockey game will have an athlete take as many collisions with as much force as a typical high level American football game. The difference is that a Hockey season will have as many at 8 times the games which make these collisions exponentially more frequent. Its with that in mind that we are going to make sure that Every Hockey player (who I sometimes affectionately call "Puckheads") in the world from the time they first learn how to put on their skates, are training the proper way for this amazing sport. And of course if a good trainer or strength coach is not feasible or affordable, any player can train online with me saving money and time. Check out a description of our online Hockey programs below. Click here fill out the fitness profile form to get started for free. -Nate

Major Setback didnt Hold Sean back from Losing 40lbs (Graphic Picture)
I would tell you to consider closing and deleting this email before reading any further. Today's transformation will eliminate any excuse you could conjure up as to not wanting to workout. Any day!
You have been warned. -Nate Day 1- Weight -195 (at his biggest 215) Belly Measurement- 38″ Final Stats Weight -154 Belly- 27.5″ I started my life style change the end of August 2013. Certain things would make me notice the weight I was at. When I would get my hair cut I would look in the mirror and realize I didn’t like the person I was looking at. I started working out a little more than I usually had. I lost a few pounds here and there but not to the extent I was hoping for. I’ve been working out for several years but wasn’t getting any results. I was building muscle but without burning the fat it wasn’t showing. I thought I was doing things right and making better food choices but I wasn’t. Eating out once or twice week, drinking sweet tea, and consuming candy aren’t something you can do if your expecting any kind of change. I guess you can’t have a few margaritas a week and expect to lose any kind of weight it wasn’t until I started talking to Micah that I really started to understand my body and what I needed and didn’t need. He taught me what food choices I needed, what was good, what was bad, and everything in between. With that and the workouts he had me follow, he helped me transform my body and life into something I am happy to say I’m proud of. Thank you Micah for everything! THE SETBACK (9 weeks in)9 Weeks into his transformation BOOM. While at work a broiler exploded and his body was covered in 2nd and 3rd degree burns. He was hospitalized and could not workout for a few weeks. I remember getting the text from him with the pics and story and simply thinking REST and Recover, happy that he is alive. He responded back with I cannot wait to workout and start eating the way i have been again. He swears he recovered so quickly because of all the sweet potatoes i had him eat He didnt let this keep him from reaching his goals, the minute he was cleared to workout again he was back at it. Be A Fit Human!
I came across this article and it hit me like a ton and a half of bricks. We in the fitness biz are often working to find a practical bridge to why anyone at any age would want to be fit. How about this idea? Simply a better life!
-Nate Nicholas Tan Fitness is the essence of a man. Fitness is the ability of a person to do his normal everyday tasks with full alertness and vigor without worrying about fatigue afterward and with extra energy in reserve which can be useful when emergencies arise or during leisure and recreation. Overall fitness must be the primary goal every man must try to achieve. In fitness, no one is ever too young or too old for improvement. Some tips in keeping a man's fitness level high, efficient and safe:1.) Drink plenty of water all through out the day, especially when working out.2.) Do exercises properly using the correct techniques, whether it's weight lifting or aerobic exercises. Always read and understand, and follow of course, the instructions outlined by the personal trainer.3.) Make sure the is always a spotter when lifting weights.4.) Challenge the muscles, but make sure that it's kept safe.5.) Stretch, warm-up prior to working out and cool-down gradually after sessions.6.) Check the equipment for safety before using them.7.) It is better to do less than overdo the whole thing. Over-training will exhaust enthusiasm and kill performance.

The 5 Biggest Fitness Mistakes
Take a walk through any gym, and you'll notice many mistakes. Mistakes that waste time. Mistakes that put people in danger. And mistakes that are just plain stupid. Maybe you even make a few of these mistakes yourself.
By avoiding these common blunders, you'll put yourself on the fast track to results. Check out the following 5 fitness mistakes and the solutions you need to avoid danger and to get fit fast. Mistake 1: You use the wrong weight The goal is to challenge your muscles, not to simply go through the motions. If you are able to complete 15 repetitions easily, then the weight is too light. On the flip side, if you aren't able to perform an exercise through its full range of motion, and find yourself cheating on form, then the weight is too heavy. The correct weights will feel challenging by your last few repetitions, but won't force you to sacrifice form. Mistake 2: You do the same routine You may have noticed that most people do the same exercises each time they visit the gym. Maybe you've been doing the same exercise routine as long as you can remember - if it isn't broken then don't fix it, right? The truth is that exercise routines have expiration dates, and that is the date that they begin to lose their effectiveness. As a rule of thumb never use the same routine for more than 4 weeks. Mistake 3: You don't warm up Most people consider warm up time to be wasted time - they'd rather jump right into the heart of the routine. What they don't realize is that a good warm up will allow you to perform at a higher intensity, which means greater results. The point of a warm up is to increase your muscle temperature. This increases blood flow, muscle contraction and reduces muscle resistance. Your warm up should last 5-10 minutes. Mistake 4: You use bad form Gyms are filled with people performing exercises with bad form. The two biggest reasons are that you aren't concentrating on the exercise, or you're trying to lift weight that is too heavy. Lifting with improper form almost always results in injury. Take the time to achieve proper form, by doing so you'll avoid injury and will reap the full benefit from each exercise. Mistake 5: You workout alone People who exercise alone are less challenged, less accountable and typically see fewer results. It makes sense, doesn't it? Why rush to the gym if no one is there waiting for you? Why push yourself if no one is watching? Exercising alone is a recipe for disaster. The best way to avoid injury and to see results is to work with me, your trusted source on fitness. I am passionate about seeing my clients achieve results - without wasting time, energy and effort on mistakes. Call or email today to schedule your first workout. You'll find my contact info in this newsletter.

Fat Loss In A Bottle?
Another great morning awaits Athletes and Warriors! Welcome to a new day!
I am often asked about nutritional supplements that is why we often share articles on said subject. And as always I must remind you my 'Fit Force' that supplements can help in achieving any fitness or performance goal as long as they are treated as their name implies. As a 'supplement' to your well-rounded meal plan like the ones provided every client of the US Sports Online Strength and Conditioning System. We train hard, and we train smart, that is why I am so proud of each and every one of you. You are here because you truly care to live life, healthier and stronger. So read and live on Athletes and Warriors! -Nate Fat Loss in a Bottle Here are some nutritional supplements on the market that can help your weight-loss process along. Originally featured in: Men's Fitness It may sound like something out of a sci-fi novel, but thermogenesis could be the secret to losing your love handles. Literally meaning "the creation of heat," it involves cranking up the calorie- and fat-burning processes in your body. While exercise and diet are the keys, many of us are genetically limited as to how much fat we can burn. This is where modern science comes to the rescue: There are nutritional supplements on the market that can help the process along. The products discussed below won't work without a sound weight program and plenty of cardio, but they might be worth a try. Citrus aurantium This fruit, also called "bitter orange," contains a naturally occurring fat-burner called synephrine. Citrus aurantium can increase your body's ability to burn fat and may exert a mild hunger-suppressant effect. It has only recently been introduced in supplement form and should be widely available toward the end of the year. "Citrus aurantium is the ideal fat-loss aid for guys who have plateaued in their workout programs," says Douglas Kalman, RD, director of clinical research at Peak Wellness, a Greenwich, Connecticut-based health-care facility. The latest study performed at Peak Wellness on citrus aurantium showed no signs of potential side effects. Stay tuned. 7-keto DHEA You've probably heard of DHEA, a hormone-replacement therapy that some guys use to gain muscle mass and lose body fat. Unfortunately, DHEA is not very effective in guys under 35, and it's associated with some nasty side effects, including prostate enlargement, acne and premature baldness. Earlier this year, an altered version of DHEA was introduced. It's called 7-keto DHEA, and research indicates that it works by preventing your metabolic rate from dropping when you're on a calorie-restrictive diet. Kalman believes 7-keto holds great promise. "When individuals diet to lose body fat, their progress stops after a period of a few weeks," he says. "This version of DHEA can prevent this without the hormone-like side effects." Caffeine and ephedra These two controversial stimulants are thermogenic on their own but have an even greater effect on fat loss when combined. They are added to several ready-made drinks or pills found in health-food stores, sometimes referred to by their respective herbal names, guarana and ma huang. The problem, again, is side effects. Overuse of caffeine and ephedra has been associated with increased heart rate, insomnia, nervousness and even death. "Scientific studies have shown that [the combination] works, but I'm not crazy about the potential for side effects," Kalman says. If you're on antidepressant medication, ephedra is not an option. Pyruvate A recent study demonstrated that as little as 6 grams of pyruvate per day can enhance fat loss and increase muscle mass in guys who exercise regularly and follow a reasonably low-fat diet. "I like this one because it basically has no side effects, it's all natural, and data shows pyruvate can not only effect fat loss, but can make you exercise harder and longer," says Kalman. Yohimbine Yohimbine is a natural substance derived from the bark of two African trees. It is a potent vasodilator that first became popular because it increases the blood supply to the penis. In fact, yohimbine was the pre-Viagra impotence treatment for millions of men around the world. Yohimbine also increases levels of norepinephrine, which has a marked effect on fat utilization by the body. However, it may cause stimulatory-type reactions such as dizziness, irritability, headaches, anxiety and increased heart rate. "The side effects are pretty common," says Kalman. "Also, it can have negative interactions with antidepressant medications." If yohimbine strikes your fancy, stick to the prescription brand Yocon, or make sure over-the-counter varieties declare that they are standardized for yohimbine activity. Ask your doctor before trying it. Read More...

Busy Traveling Dad has close to 90 lbs of Weight Loss with Hitch Fit Online Personal Training
And its another Home Run for our friends at Hitchfit! As you can see these amazing transformations are not the sole property of bodybuilders and aspiring fitness models. Warriors come from all walks of life, but have two things in common:
1. They made a written in stone decision to do something about their health 2. They sought a reliable, trustworthy pro to help them. I don't need to sell you on this program. I want to share it with those who have gone through step one and are ready for step 2. Nate Name: Sean Hedenskog Hometown: Lenexa, KS Age: 43 Height: 6’5” Occupation: Technical Instructor Weight Before: 378.6 pounds Weight After: 292.1 pounds Weight Lost: 86.5 pounds Duration: 8 months I have always had a love affair with food! I seem to associate events in my life with the meals that I have had. My story starts with the summer of 2012 when I completely lost all sort of will power. Just like many I was going through many things in my life and I was turning to food for comfort. I was dining at Church’s Chicken two or three times a week. I would consistently find myself getting a sausage croissant breakfast sandwich, a chocolate long john and a 44 oz. Coke for breakfast at QuikTrip at least twice a week. It all came to a head when I was planning for a business trip to Hawaii and realized that all my dress pants wouldn’t fit!!! I had to go and get some new ones before I left for the trip. I was devastated as the pants I had to buy where size 54. Although I had been active trying to get in my 10,000 steps a day on my FitBit pedometer my company so generously outfitted me with, I was failing. I was out of control! While I was in Hawaii for two weeks I promised to start getting in shape and set a goal to walk at least 10,000 steps a day while I was there. I walked everywhere over those next two weeks and was surprised by how many steps I actually logged. I walked over 165,000 steps and 85 miles! I thought I was on my way to a better me. Alas once I got home I was once again reintroduced to my daily life and once again fell back into eating to self-medicate. Lucky for me around the October/November time frame I saw one of the guys I had grown up with being featured on HitchFit.com. Tim Smith was able to take off over 80 lbs. using the HitchFit system so I reached out to him to see if it might be something for me. I mean what do I have to lose other than the weight and if Tim did it surely I could do it to. I was really inspired by Tim’s story and decided on Cyber Monday in 2012 to sign up for the 36-week Lose Weight program. I remember vividly the first day of the program. I weighed in at a whopping 378.6 lbs. The heaviest I have ever been. I was driven to succeed at this so I followed Micah’s directions to a T. I ate all my meals and snacks and was completely satisfied by the small meals I was having. My first workout, let’s just say that I don’t wish to ever have to work out at 378.6 lbs. again. The workout took me 3.5 hours to complete the entire work out. I remember coming home and promising my wife that I never wanted to work out at that weight ever again! From there I would make it a game to see how much time I could shave off my work out or how I could burn more calories in less time while doing cardio. Another factor in my weight loss is that my job takes me all over the United States. It doesn’t help your waistline when you are constantly eating foods high in fat, sugar and salt from restaurants. In order for this to work I found myself booking hotels that had kitchens and workout facilities. On Sunday night, when I would arrive to my destination I would seek out a local grocery store and buy my food for the entire week. I thought when I first started the program the hardest time I would have would be on the road. As I found out it was actually easier being on the road as I had complete control of my schedule and my meals! Where I had difficulty was at home. I have a wonderful supportive wife and daughter and was getting ready to welcome the newest member of our family in December. It wasn’t easy but I was able to drop the weight. Here’s a look at my overall results:
Although my journey is far from over I am thankful I saw Tim’s testimonial and signed up for HitchFit. I often remind myself how far I had come in those 36 weeks by taking two 40 lbs. dumbbells and walk around the gym with them. I can’t believe I had been carrying that extra weight for over 10 years. Now I am happier and healthier and looking forward to the next step in my journey. Thanks HitchFit for getting me back to a newer, healthier version of myself! Sean SEANS PROGRAM CHOICE
